Day 1
Guwahati - Shillong (100 Kms 2.5 Hrs Drive) - Arrival at Guwahati and Proceed to Shillong. En route visit: Borapani Umiam Lake, Located about 17 kms from Shillong, Umium Lake, surrounded by beautiful hills and a picturesque location is highly refreshing. It has water-sports facilities and the nearby Nehru Park has an Aviary and Orchidarium. Arrive at Shillong and check in at hotel. Evening if time permits visit local market (Police Bazar). Dinner and overnight at Shillong.

Shillong: Shillong was a small village until 1864, when it became the new civil station of the Khasi and Jaintia hills. It remained the summer capital of Eastern Bengal and Assam for many years. In 1874, on the formation of Assam as a Chief Commissioner’s Province, it was chosen as the capital of the new administration. An earthquake destroyed the city in 1897, necessitating its complete rebuilding. In January 1972, Shillong became the capital of the newly formed state of Meghalaya. Shillong lies on the eastern part of the state. Perched at an altitude of 1,520 meters (4,990 feet) above sea level, the city stretches for about 6 km on an elevated tract. More
Day 2
Shillong – Cherrapunjee (60 Kms One Way, 2 Hrs Drive) - Early morning drive to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee possesses some exotic waterfalls and impressive limestone caves, Mawkdok Viewpoint, Nohkalikai Falls, 7 Sister Falls, Thangkharang Park and Mawsmai Cave which is one of the 100 odd limestone caves in Meghalaya. Lunch, after lunch back to Shillong en- route visit to Elephant Falls And Shillong Peak. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Cherrapunjee: famed for being the wettest place in the world. It was used as the head quarter of the Khasi and the Jaintia Community but they had shifted the base from Cherrapunjee to Shillong in 1864, due to the problem that Cherrapunjee face during the monsoon season. Due to its scenic beauty it became a hot tourist destination. More

Shillong peak (1965 mtr.): About 10 kms from the town, it offers breathtaking views of the city spread out against its glorious hill slopes.
Day 3
Shillong - Kaziranga (320 kms 7 hrs. Drive) - Morning after breakfast Check- out from the hotel and Shillong sight-seeing - Donbosco Museum, the Cathedral Church, Lady Hydri Park and Ward's Lake etc. Proceed to Kaziranga National park. Lunch on the way. Reach Kaziranga late evening. Dinner and Over Night at one of the lodge.

The Old Churches of Shillong: The town is dotted with fine old churches of which the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians is most famed for its stained glass windows and lofty arch. 

Kaziranga National Park: The oldest park in Assam, Kaziranga, on the south bank of the Brahmaputra River, is world famous for its great Indian one – horned rhinoceros, of which there are aplenty. Spread across 430 sq kms, it is a dazzling mosaic of dense rain forest, tall elephant grass and swathes of reeds interspersed with vast tracts of marshes and shallow pools that are a favourite haunt of this celebrity pre-historic beast. Wild elephant, hog deer and barasingha. The National Park though regarded as the home for one horn rhino, it is also known as the abode of big five, Rhino, Elephant, Tiger, Asiatic water Buffalo, Deer. In 1985 the park is declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and in 2006 the park is also declared as Tiger Project. The park got the 1st position for highest density of Tiger in India. Day 4
Kaziranga - Early morning enjoy the Elephant Safari at Kaziranga. After Safari back to the resort for Breakfast. After breakfast visit Assamese Village, Craft Centre etc. Back to the resort for Lunch. After Lunch Jeep Safari in one of the ranges of the park. Overnight at Kaziranga.
Day 5
Kaziranga - Majuli (135 Kms 2 Hrs Drive, 1 ½ Hrs Ferry Ride) - Morning after breakfast depart by car for Majuli. En-route crossing mighty Brahmaputra River by ferry.

Majuli: Tucked in the mighty Brahmaputra, Majuli is the world's largest river island. Majuli is known the world over in academic circles for the Satras (monastery), which have preserved the Vaishnavite culture. The crops are sowed and they blossom. The people staying here know how to swim and row a boat even before they walk and talk.Check in one of the lodge /Guest of the satra. Afternoon explore Majuli visiting the Satras, the birth place of Vaishnavite culture in Assam and the tribal villages. Evening visit to a nearby sand beach in Brahmaputra to witness the sunset. Dinner and overnight at the lodge / Satra guest house.(As per the availability of the room it might be at Neemati in that case we have to cross the Brahmaputra that will take another 1 ½ hrs, timing of the ferry depends on the river condition). Day 6
Majuli/Neemati – Sivasagar – Jorhat - After breakfast (Depending the stay either at Majuli, or at Neemati) drive to Sibsagar. Sibsagar sight-seeing like Ranghar, (Amphitheatre), Talatal Ghar (Palace of the King), Karenghar (Palace of the King), Borpukhuri (manmade water Reserviour), and Shiva Dole (The tallest Shiva temple in entire north east). Over night at Jorhat.

Sibsagar: Sibsagar is located in the eastern part of Assam. It was the capital of the Ahom who Ruled Assam for Six hundred years. The town is a Major Tourist attraction for the Historical Monuments. It is interesting to note that all the temples as well as the Palaces during the Ahom rules bears testimony to the use of locally available building materials like Bora Chaul (a sticky variety of rice grain) yolk of duck egg, black lentils and others. The grains can still be found in its original form even after hundreds of years of its construction. The literacy rate of Sibsagar is 81% compare to the all India average of 59%. More
Day 7
Jorhat – Guwahati (290 Kms 6 Hrs Drive) - After Breakfast drive back to Guwahati. Check-in & late lunch at the Hotel at Guwahati. After lunch Resort activities like elephant ride, pony ride, boating, angling, swimming etc. After the activities if time permits drive to Guwahati and visit the local market and River Cruise on the river Brahmaputra (River Cruise depends on the river condition) Overnight at the resort at Guwahati.
Day 8
Guwahati - With pack breakfast Guwahati sightseeing like Maa Kamakhya Temple, Nabagraha Temple (Temple of nine planets), Umananda Temple (smallest river temple in the midst of the river Brahmaputra) Basistha & Balaji Temple etc. After lunch visit State Zoo, Science Museum, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Govt. emporium for shopping etc. Overnight at Guwahati Hotel/Resort.

Kamakhya: The origin of Kamakhya is Pre-Aryan. Situated atop the Nilachal hill the foremost shrine of Assam. Kamakhya is an ancient seat of Tantric and Shakti cults of Hinduism. The original temple was destroyed by the invading Muslims in their crusade against Hindu temples and idols in the early part of 16th century. Ultimately it was restored from ruins by King Naranarayan of the Koches and rebuilt in its present form in 1565 AD. It is difficult to have even a dim idea of what the temple was like in its original structure; there is no record of it left either in inscriptions or stone relics. More

Guwahati: The origin of the city is unknown, from the epic, puranas, and explored history it was estimated that it is one of the oldest city in Asia. There are a number of historical features in Guwahati. The Dighalipukhuri is a rectangular lake that was connected to the Brahmaputra, and was probably dug for naval reasons by the Ahoms. It is the gateway to northeastern India. The name is a combination of two words- Guwa meaning areca nut and Hat meaning market. Guwahati is the commercial nerve Centre of the Northeast.
