Dibru Saikhowa National Park

Dibru Saikhowa is a beautiful National Park located in the eastern foothills of the majestic Himalaya in the Indian state of Assam in North East India. Dibru Saikhowa is one of the bio-diversity hotspot and it has an average altitude of 118 m.

The park is mainly grassland but a partial portion is wetland. The park is bounded by Brahmaputra and Lohit River in the north and Dibru River in the south. The national park is situated in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts in Assam.

Dibru Saikhowa is safe heaven for many endangered species. Due to the auto stocking by the Brahmaputra and Dibru River, it is rich in fish diversity. Dibru Saikhowa's main attraction is the White Winged Wood Duck which stays happily in its natural habitat. The park is also home to other rare creatures such as water buffalo, wild horse, the tiger and Capped Langur. Dibru-Saikhowa is among the most vibrant wildness on earth and is also distinct for her pristine scenic beauty.

How to Reach

Dibru-Saikhowa is well connected by Airway, National Highway and Indian Railway. Tinsukia, where the office of DFO wildlife Division is located is the nearest town to Dibru-Saikhowa National Park, Dibrugarh is the nearest airport which is about 40km away from Tinsukia Town. Distance from Tinsukia to Guijan and Dhola entry point is about 10km and 50km respectively. Buses, Taxies and Auto rickshaws are available from Tinsukia for Dibru Saikhowa National Park.
