Namdhapa Wildlife Sanctuary

The famous wild life sanctuary in Arunachal Pradesh. This park is Perhaps this is the only park in the world that all the four felines can be spotted. They are the tiger, the leopard, the snow leopard and the clouded leopard. Trekking, Elephant ride; jungle safari can be enjoyed here. Sharing borders with Myanmar, this park has an elevation ranging from 200 meters to the snow covered peaks at a height of 4500 meters in elevation. October to April is the best time to visit.

The sanctuary has over 150 species of tree including medicinal and ornamental plants. This region is home to a large variety of flora and fauna, some of which are exclusively confined to this area. This place is one of the prime destinations for botanical / zoological excursion and tracking expeditions.

Spotting of tiger, leopard, snow leopard, clouded leopard. Musk deer, serow, takin, goral, black bear, hoolock gibbon red panda and leopard. Gaur or mithun, elephant, Himalayan black bear, takin, slow loris, Assamese macaque, pig - tailed macaque, stump - tailed macaque and the hoolock gibbon can be found in the area. Three major rivers drain this area

Among the avifauna spotting of monal tragopan, kalij, etc is high. White winged Wood Ducks, the great Indian Hornbills, Jungle Fowls and Pheasants can also be spotted.

• By Air – The nearest airport is Dibrugarh and is 160 kilometers drive from Namdhapa. The state's airports are located at Daparjio, Ziro, Along, Tezu and Pasighat. However, owing to the rough terrain, these airports are mostly small and cannot handle many flights.
• By Rail – The nearest railhead is Ledo, situated 56 kilometers away from Namdhapa Tiger Park. It is also well connected that the railway station in Margherita, nearly 65 kilometers in Tinsukia, Assam. Margherita is connected with major cities of India. Namdhapa is situated about 135 kilometers from Tinsukia and the journey from here is also an experience.
• By Road – By road Dibrugarh is 140 kilometers and Tezu is 182 kilometers. By a drive in Jeep or Gypsy from Miao. The nearest airport is Mohanbari in Dibrugarh, Assam. The bus stand is in Margherita in Tinsukia, Assam. Two major highway are the 336 kilometer National Highway 52, connects Jonai with Dirak. Another highway connects Tezpur in Assam with Tawang. All the places are connected to Assam. Each town has got its own bus station and daily bus services are available. Private vehicles are also available.
