Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary

This sanctuary is situated in South Tripura District. It is 18 kilometers away from the sub divisional town of Belonia and is connected with Agartala by state highway. It can be approached either from Belonia in the south or Sonamura in the northern side. The sanctuary has an area of 197.7 square kilometers. This sanctuary has a numbers of perennial water rivulets, water bodies, and grass land.

In this sanctuary, there are patches of virgin forests which are rich in rare vegetation. Indian Gaur (Bison) is an attraction of this sanctuary. Apart from it, thre are varieties of Birds, Deers, Hollock Gibbon, Golden Langur, Capped Langur, Pheasant and many other animals and reptiles.

• By Air – Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary is 97 kilometers from Agartala airport by road. Agartala is connected by airlines flights with Calcutta, Guwahati and Delhi. One can easily reach the Udaipur by road from Agartala.
• By Rail - The two nearest railway stations are Kumarghat and Dharama Nagar. One can take a bus or taxi from Belonia to reach the station.
• By Road – Trishna wildlife sanctuary is 110 kilometers from state capital Agartala. Trishna wildlife Sanctuary is well connected by bus with the major cities of North East India. Tripura State Transport Corporation buses ply towards different places of North East. Trishna W S13 Km from civil sub - division Head quarter Belonia from state capital Agartala it is 95 kilometers via Sonamura and 100 kilometers via Udaipur. Local Transport – Private taxis, auto rickshaws and city bus service are available from Agartala Airport.
