Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh is an important town of North East Assam and North East India. It is a big centre of trade and commerce and noted for its tea, coal and oil production. Situated at a distance of 445 kms from guwahati, 136 kms from Jorhat and 80 kms from Sibsagar, Dibrugarh has a good number of tea plantations around the town. Dibrugarh is also the district headquarter of the Dibrugarh district in Assam.

Dibrugarh is the gateway of three tea producing districts of Assam, namely Dibrugarh, Sibagar and Tinsukia. There three districts produce almost 50% of the total production of the Assam Tea. Digboi the first place to dig out oil in British era is situated at a distance of 50 Kms from Dibrugarh. Dibrugarh is famous for its natural beauty and scenic Tea Gardens.

The largest Salix Swamp forest in North East India Dibru Saikhowa National Park is situated at a distance of 42Kms from Dibrugarh town.

How to Reach

• By AIR: Dibrugarh Airport (Mohanbari Airport) connects Kolkata, Delhi and Guwahati with regular flight services. Apart from that the Airport is serviced by Pawan Hans Helicopter Service which connects Itanagar, Naharlagun and Pasighat with regular helicopter service.
• By Road: There are regular bus services, plying between Dibrugarh and other major cities of Assam.By Train: Dibrugarh is served by the extensive network of Indian Railways. Vivek Express the longest train service of Indian Railways which connects Kanyakumari and Dibrugarh, originates from this station. Dibrugarh has direct train connectivity with New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai etc.
