Mayapur is situated 3 kilometers on the opposite of Nabadwip and 25 kilometers from Krishnanagar across the river Bhagirathi. Some Schools of thought claims this place to be the actual birth place of Lord Sri Chaitanya. Places of interest are Nabadwip, Mayapur, Shantipur, Palashi, Ballal Dhipi, Shivaniwas, Krishnanagar, Bethuadahari, Bahadurpur Forest, Hasadanga Beel, Mangaldwip Char, etc. One can visit nearby Ballal Mound, which is a reminiscent of Bengal king Ballal Sen and the tomb of Chand Kazi. Crossing River Ganga, visit Nabadwip and a round of all the nine islands is also part of sightseeing one can do. Krishnanagar has one more attraction i.e. One must visit the Ghurni Putulpatti which is an arcade for selling Mud Sculpture and this place is known for Making one of the best Mud Sculpture in the Country.
